Music is a practice found in every human culture, and society invests enormous resources in music making and music listening. The aim of the psychology of music is to understand musical phenomŽena in terms of mental functions - to characterize the ways in which one perŽceives, remembers, creates, and performs music. Therefore, this course examines the cognitive, social, and biological basis of our ability to perceive, remember, appreciate and produce music, and to determine how individuals benefit from music in their lives.
