203-HSB-03, Astronomy
This course is designed for non-science students who are interested in astronomy, but have little or no background in science. This course will take a student on a journey through the sky starting with the earth and the moon, continuing with the solar system and going on to stars and galaxies. Peculiar objects like comets, black holes, pulsars, and quasars will be examined. Classes will have a lecture format with frequent use of slide presentations and films. Students are expected to participate in observations and may be able to use the telescope.
