| 520-917-VA, Photo I Introductory level course. Students taking this course learn how to handle a 35 mm. camera and how to shoot black-and white film in a variety of situations. They also explore the basics of composition and lighting, process their own film, and enlarge their best negatives into exhibition-size prints. Through lectures, slides, demonstrations, and field trips, students become familiar with the fundamentals and the subtleties of the medium. Work-sessions with the teacher in the darkroom help assure that each student becomes competent in all the technical aspects of the printing process. Students supply their own film and photo paper. |
