502-201-VA, Portfolio Advanced level course. Open to all 2nd Year Communications students from Cinema, Photo, Theatre, and Fine Arts areas. Offered in the fall term. Required for all students in New Program. This course integrates skills that third semester students have learned in their other Communications courses. Participants will assemble a portfolio of their best work from past semesters and produce a new project that ties together their own key themes and ideas. They will also research university programs across Canada and the United States. Finally, they will write a Letter of Intent that describes their interests, the direction of their work, and the university programs they intend to apply for. Guest speakers, visits to university facilities, class presentations, and peer review sessions will help stimulate students to be more informed, analytical, and creative. This course includes the Comprehensive Assessment for the program.
