340-100-VA, Invitation to Philosophy
Philosophy tries to answer the most fundamental questions we can ask: What is reality; what is knowledge, and how can we attain it? What things are truly valuable: How ought we to live? What is justice? Does God exist? This course is designed to help the beginner identiy the main philosophical questions and the branches of philosophy that address these questions; examine some of the historically most important answers to some of these questions; and explore the relevance of these questions to our own lives, society, and culture.
