From the Plains of Abraham to the rebellions of 1837 to the conscription battles of the world wars to the Quiet Revolution, Québecois have seen their share of triumph and defeat. But what is it exactly that Québecois remember? There is no doubt that Québec constitutes a nation but Québec is also a province made up of many different peoples, each with their own memories. This course explores the contributions made by each of those peoples and the development of Québec as a vibrant and diverse nation with a distinct place in North America.
