JORDAN WAXMAN: INVESTMENT BANKER IS ALSO A COMPETITIVE TRIATHLETE AND LONG-DISTANCE SWIMMER

Vanier Commerce grad Jordan Waxman is a very successful private banker working for Merrill Lynch in NYC. He also heads a busy household in New Jersey with his wife, Caren, and three children aged 7, 9 and 10. Jordan is also an accomplished athlete who has run many triathlons and ironman triathlons, but has a particular gift for long-distance swimming. Not only has he completed the arduous Manhattan Island Marathon Swim (28.5 miles around the island) on several occasions, but he was also featured recently in a Gazette article that chronicled his first attempt in August to swim the English Channel. Waxman's swimming prowess was developed over a lifetime love affair with the water that began with his learning to swim at age 3.

His first competitive swim team was none other than here at Vanier, and he went on to compete with the McGill Swim Team where he eventually served as team captain from 1984 to 1987.

Jordan was also a swimming and CPR teacher for lifeguards at the Snowdon YMHA and at various YMCAs throughout the city in the years leading up to his departure for the United States.


At the 2007 Ironman World Championships - Kona, Hawaii.


Jordan has completed many triathlons and even some Ironman Triathlons which consist of
swimming 3.86 km, riding a bike for 180.25 km and then running a full marathon of 42.2 km.
