Dr. Mark J. Cohen: Pioneering Laser Vision Surgeon After finishing his studies at Vanier College, Mark Cohen went on to complete his medical degree and specialization in ophthalmology at McGill University. While at McGill, Dr. Cohen was awarded the Holmes Gold Medal, which is given to the graduate of the Faculty of Medicine with the highest academic standing upon completion of 4 years of medical school. He then completed his training with a post-doctoral fellowship corneal transplantation surgery and laser vision correction of the cornea. |

He co-founded the now 20 clinic LASIK MD chain along with Dr. Avi Wallerstein and is currently both its President as well as one of its two National Medical Directors. As a cornea and laser vision correction specialist, Dr. Cohen is responsible for teaching laser eye surgery to ophthalmology residents from McGill University, University of Montreal and the University of Sherbrooke.
