Multi-Talented Vanier Alum John Moore Is a Radio Talk Show Host, Actor and Director
After completing a DEC in Social Sciences at Vanier John Moore went on to eventually become a well known media personality in Montreal and Toronto, notably as Entertainment reporter for CJAD and Mix 96 and host of the popular “Escalator Movie Reviews” on Global TV.
John is currently the host of the 3 to 6 PM show on News Talk 1010 CFRB in Toronto and of the daily interview show Mystery Ink for Global Television.
Born and raised in Montreal, John completed his education at Concordia University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a diploma from The School of Community and Public Affairs. His career started at the old CHOM-FM and Hits 990 in 1988 when he was hired (without pay) to be a reporter. After several years in news John gradually shifted to entertainment reporting and movie reviewing.
In addition to his radio work John has been seen in many TV shows and Movies including Driven, The Whole Nine Yards, the lamentable Isn’t She Great?, and Big Wolf on Campus.
He directs and appears in segments for all of Canada’s networks including the French Language CBC.
His most memorable news reporting experience came years after he had given up hard news coverage when he found himself in New York City on September 11th, 2001.
John says his favorite activity after all these years is doing improvisational comedy with the troupe he co-founded in 1990: On the Spot Improv.
Several years ago, John was invited to deliver the commencement address at a Vanier graduation ceremony.
John Moore currently lives both in Montreal and Toronto.
