Apart from her upcoming title role in Opera de Montreal’s prduction of THÉRÈSE RAQUIN in April 2002, mezzo-soprano Louise Guyot played Pantalis in March 2001, one of the lead roles in the Opera de Montreal’s production of MEFISTOFELE by Arrigo Boito. As well, Ms. Guyot held the role of Mary in DER FLIEGENDE HOLLANDER in 1993. She was also Dido in DIDO AND AENEAS at the Opera North in New Hampshire.

The title role of Thérèse, a simple girl caught up in a murderous love triangle, will be sung by Canadian mezzo-soprano Louise Guyot, also heard here in Montreal as Panatlis in MEFISTOFELE in 2001. Ms. Guyot has appeared in a number of roles at L’OdM including Marie in DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER, Gertrude in ROMÉO ET JULIETTE, and Bacchis in LA BELLE HÉLÈNE; she recently appeared as Mère Michelle in L’ARCHE at Coups de Théâtre.
