Vanier Grad Now Producer of Reality Shows on Fox Network
After graduating from Vanier, Arthur Smith studied radio and television at Ryerson Polytechnic in Toronto. Following a stint as a producer at CBC Sports, he went from directing Hockey Night in Canada to executive-producing CBC’s coverage of several Olympic games, earning himself a couple of Gemini Awards along the way.
At 28, he was head of CBC Sports, the youngest division boss at the network at the time. But he had even greater successes still to come at Fox-TV.
Arthur Smith had another smash hit on his hands with the phenomenally popular “Hell’s Kitchen” featuring acid-tongued head chef Gordon Ramsay. The series was broadcast to huge ratings in the spring and summer of 2008. View the website of A. Smith and Co. Productions.
Arthur Smith was Executive Producer of the reality series “The Swan”. The Swan was the “highest rated makeover show this season among Adults 18-49, outperforming ABC’s Extreme Makeover and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” Info taken from the orwellproject.com website.
