Éric Lozowy who has served on the board of directors of the AQPC since June 2014, wants to get the news out about the educational resources the AQPC offers to the English-speaking college community.
“The AQPC recognizes the importance of Anglophone colleges in the educational landscape of Quebec,” says Eric Lozowy. “Many of its activities and services are designed specifically for its Anglophone members. I am convinced that our teachers at Vanier and other Anglophone colleges would be pleasantly surprised to discover what the AQPC can offer them.”
During the first year of his term on the board of directors, Éric Lozowy won recognition for the depth of his thinking and commitment as well as his drive, educational vision, and human qualities. For these reasons, the members of the AQPC board of directors asked him to serve as the Association’s vice president for 2015–2016.
The AQPC is the only province-wide association for colleges which is not based on a particular discipline. It belongs not only to teachers of all disciplines, but also to professionals and administrators who are interested in pedagogy and educational research, and as such benefits all of the institutions in Quebec’s college system.
The Association québécoise de pédagogie collégiale aims to promote, stimulate, and support the development and evolution of college pedagogy. It holds an annual symposium; publishes the Pédagogie collégiale journal and practical books; proposes learning activities for college personnel; and develops virtual practice communities.
The AQPC also translates and publishes many articles from Pédagogie collégiale on its Web site and reviews English language articles submitted to its editor-in-chief; offers a number of papers in English during the annual symposium and holds other events in English during the year.
In 2017, Vanier College will collaborate with Cégep de St-Laurent to co-host the annual AQPC Symposium, a major event that brings together over a 1000 participants from other colleges throughout the province.
