Tiruven Devanathan June 5, 1932 – August 18, 2014

Tiruven Devanathan passed away at St.Mary’s hospital on August 18th 2014 after suffering a brain hemorrhage at the age of 82. He fought valiantly for 2 weeks, constantly assured us all that he had no pain, and thankfully passed away in his sleep which was a blessing. Known to many as “Dave” he is survived by his loving wife Padma. He is also survived by a son, daughter and grandson. He was a Chemistry professor at both Vanier and Dawson College until his retirement in 2001. Dave was passionate about science, philosophy and education and was always up for a spirited discussion on these matters. Despite battling diabetes and dementia for years he always had a zest for life and will forever be remembered for his positive attitude. Always considerate of others, he generously donated his body for teaching and research after which time a private cremation service for family members will be held. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
