C. Richard (Dick) Cassily

It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Dick Cassily who taught in the Humanities Department from 1974 - 1998. We offer our sincere condolences to his family as well as to all of his friends and colleagues both here at Vanier and elsewhere.

CASSILY, C. Richard (Dick). Aged eighty-two years, passed gently into the dawn on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at home. Father, spouse, teacher, poet. Dick's passion and love lives in the hearts of his spouse Patricia Coon, his son Corey Coon-Cassily of Fairbanks, Alaska, his sister Barbara Vaughan (Thomas Vaughan) of Rye Beach New Hampshire and cherished niece Sharon Spaulding (David Smith) of Fresno, California. He will be remembered by a multitude of, family, friends, colleagues and "chance acquaintances". All will be received and welcomed at:on Saturday, September 6, 2008 from 2 p.m. preceding a celebration of Dick's life at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Benedict Labre House, 308 Young St., Montreal Qc.
