> Slavic Studies > Applying to Slavic Studies Major

Students can apply to the Slavic Studies Major in any given semester of their studies. They must simply fill an application form and set up an appointment with the Coordinator of the program.

Students are awarded a Slavic Studies Certificate by completing four courses, of which at least three must be identified as “core” Slavic Studies courses, and one course which can be a “related” course that includes a Slavic Studies project. Modern Languages students can take up to four Russian language courses, but only two courses will be accounted towards a Slavic Studies Certificate. Participation in the Study Abroad Program at Saint-Petersburg State University can replace a “core” or “related” course as a requirement towards a Slavic Studies Major Certificate.
