DAVID ZILBERMAN,
WRESTLER EXTRAORDINAIRE
During
his years at Vanier College, David Zilberman became a dominating
force on the national wrestling scene. Under the tutelage
of his father Victor Zilberman, a teacher at Vanier and
a former Olympic wrestling trainer, David went on to win
many national and international level events. He was selected
as our Male Athlete Of the Year for 2002.

LATEST UPDATE (March 10, 2004)
David was
named Concordia University's male athlete-of-the-week for his performance
at the Canadian Inter-university Sports Nationals held March 6-7 in
St. Catherines Ont. He
beat defending champion Mikhail Abdul-Latif of Simon Fraser University
in the heavyweight final and was named the event's outstanding male
rookie wrestler after posting a perfect 5-0 record.

DAVID ZILBERMAN WINS THIRD CONSECUTIVE NATIONAL TITLE
AT THIS YEAR'S CANADIAN JR. WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Vanier first year student David
Zilberman accomplished the amazing feat of winning, for the third time
in a row, first place at the Canadian Junior Wrestling Championships,
held recently in London, Ontario. On top of all this, David was also
selected by the attending coaches as the Outstanding Wrestler Of
The Tournament. David will also compete for Canada at the Maccabiah
Games in Israel this summer. David's proud father, Victor Zilberman,
wrestling coach at Vanier College, also had a long and illustrious career
in international and Olympic wrestling competitions. Congratulations
from all of us at Vanier!

David capped off a year of one achievement
after another with the honour of being named Vanier's Male Athlete
of the Year at this year's Athletics Awards Banquet.

David continued his string of successes
by capturing gold in the men's 100-kilogram division at the Concordia
Invitation wrestling meet on October 27, 2002.
