ANDREA PETRUCCI
WINS SPORT-ÉTUDES AWARD

The Sport-Études Foundation, in collaboration with la Télévision de
Radio-Canada, is pleased to offer awards of excellence to student athletes of l'École Sport-Études for the year 2003-2004. These scholarships are awarded to a student who combines superior achievement both in their academic program and their sport at the national or international level.

We are proud to announce that this year's recipient of the Vanier College Sport-Études award is Andrea Petrucci. Andrea, an honours student in Health Science, is graduating this year. Her future plans include a career in medicine.

Andrea is an accomplished Ice Dancer who is currently a member of the championship synchronized skating team, Les Suprêmes of St. Leonard. (She is seen at the top, center in the photo at left.) She has, in the past, also competed as an ice dancer with a partner with whom she won first place at the provincial junior championships in 2001. In 2003, she was recruited to skate for the Les Suprèmes. This synchronized skating team has won the Canadian Championship for two years in a row. Andrea recently attended the World Championships in Croatia with this team.

Andrea is the daughter of Maria Picciano and Giovanni Petrucci of St. Leonard, Quebec. She is coached by Benoît Venne and Lyne Forget of CPA St. Léonard. She is a graduate of Laurier-Macdonald High School.

Andrea is a worthy recipient of this award. Vanier College wishes her much success in her future endeavours.
