Sammy Okpro has been a star on the Vanier College Football Cheetahs for the last two years. The 5'10" 170 lb cornerback has contributed immensely to the team's recent success. He was the subject of a recent article in the Gazette of January 14, 2004 and was also profiled on Global TV of the same day.

As one of two Vanier College members of Team Canada at the Global Junior Football Championships, he made a great 25 yard return of the opening kickoff to get the game started and also came up with a crucial fumble recovery later in the game. Unfortunately, Team Canada ended up losing to a strong Team U.S.A. and had to settle for silver.
