VANIER WRESTLER WINS SILVER AT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

May 19, 2004

Congratulations to Serguei Guevorkian for placing second in the 2004 Canadian Wrestling Junior Championships held in March of this year. Sergei's win was for the 19-20 year old division. Sergei's accomplishment is all the greater since in these championships he faced 13 of the best wrestlers in his division in Canada. He credits his win to his determination and perseverance and to the guidance of his coach, (and Vanier teacher) Viktor Zilberman

Sergei, arrived in Canada in 2002 from Moscow, Russia. Of Armenian descent, Serguei first joined Vanier's Language School and then gained admission to the daytime DEC program. Congratulations again, Sergei. Vanier wishes you all the best for your future as a Business student, hopefully at Concordia.
