SUE HARRISON WINS TWO TEACHING AWARDS

It's been a memorable semester for French teacher Sue Harrison. She just had a visit from two members of the executive of our teacher's union, FAC (Fédération autonome du collégial) who came to Vanier to present her with this year's first prize in the Document Category of the FAC Awards: including a cheque for $700 and a clock for her desk. She won the prize for her work adapting French language lab exercises using new technologies - specifically, the Can-8 authorware available in the CLÉO lab. Over the past two years, she's spent considerable time redoing the programs for three French levels (100, HSA and 101), adapting the printed text and cassette program to a computerized form for the benefit of the many students taking these courses. On top of all this, it was

annonunced that Sue is the recipient of this year's Teaching Excellence Award, with the official presentation at Graduation Ceremonies 2001. Congratulations, Sue!
