SUE HARRISON
WINS TWO TEACHING AWARDS
It's been
a memorable semester for French teacher Sue Harrison. She just
had a visit from two members of the executive of our teacher's
union, FAC (Fédération autonome du collégial)
who came to Vanier to present her with this year's first prize
in the Document Category of the FAC Awards: including a cheque
for $700 and a clock for her desk. She won the prize for her
work adapting French language lab exercises using new technologies
- specifically, the Can-8 authorware available in the CLÉO
lab. Over the past two years, she's spent considerable time redoing
the programs for three French levels (100, HSA and 101), adapting
the printed text and cassette program to a computerized form
for the benefit of the many students taking these courses. On
