Designed for third year students, the book: “Standing On the Precipice… inquiry into the creative potential of child and youth care practice” includes a chapter that was written by Mark Greenwald entitled: “The Virtuous Child and Youth Care Practitioner… exploring identity and ethical practice.”
In this chapter, Greenwald examines the relationship between a worker’s ethical identity and the interactive nature of Child and Youth Care work by presenting a conversation between a supervisor and a front-line Child and Youth Care Worker. The chapter’s primary theme of stepping outside of situational ethics and examining relational ethics originated from his teaching of SCC’s Professional Ethics course. |
