The library offers instruction sessions for classes in all programs to teach students how to use the library and its resources effectively. Library instruction sessions may be requested by phone (extension 7544) or by email to plan and schedule a session in our "Instruction Room" (E-501).

Instruction sessions are available throughout the semester, to help your students whenever they are assigned a paper involving library research. We provide interactive sessions in E-501, an instruction room that accommodates both individual and group work. This room allows students to follow along using individual computers as the librarian leads them into the library catalogue, full-text databases, and other online resources.

We also demonstrate the concept of critical thinking using opposing viewpoints. These sessions have been found to provide students with an excellent start in carrying out their research and teachers have reported finding more relevant and scholarly citations in student assignments. Please schedule a session with us early in the semester to ensure that we can accommodate your classes.
