February 2, 1995

Tomorrow, NASA Discovery, one of NASA’s Space Shuttles. Discovery’s one-week mission is very important, because it is the first time a Shuttle will rendezvous with Mir, the new Russian space station.


March 10, 1995

On March 14, Norman Thagard his stay on Mir. He is American, and he is the first astronaut who is living on Mir. He on the station for 115 days, which is a new American record.


June 23, 1995

The United States humans into space for the 100th time on June 27. Shuttle Atlantis three astronauts to Mir. These astronauts the three who have spent more than three months in space. It is also the first time an American Shuttle with Mir. The old crew to Earth along with Atlantis in early July.


March 21, 1996

Tomorrow, Shannon Lucid to Mir aboard Atlantis. She is the first American woman to live aboard the station. She on Mir for a total of 188 days, a record for American astronauts and a world record for woman astronauts. She and the Russian cosmonauts aboard Mir only Russian for the entire mission. Ms. Lucid has been studying this foreign language very hard.


June 26, 1997

Yesterday, a Russian supply ship hit Mir. The station is still in good condition. In August, a new crew the current crew on Mir. The new astronauts a spacewalk to examine the damage to the supply ship, called Spektr.

June 1, 1998

Tomorrow, Shuttle Discovery the Kennedy Space Station to close the Mir-Shuttle programme. At noon on June 8, Discovery from Mir. It is the last American mission to the Russian space station.
