See if you understand all the words as they are used in "Big Dreams." Answer by choosing the right definition of the following words:
When I grow up, I am going to be an astronaut. First, I will study
science in high school. I will also learn new languages. I already speak English,
and I am going to learn Spanish and Russian because there are many Russian
astronauts. I am going to join a sports team so that I can be in shape for
my training. When I go to university, I will study medicine. I will be a doctor
in space, just like Roberta Bondar, Canada’s first woman astronaut.
Before I go to space, I am going to practice being weightless by going
on many rollercoaster rides. I am also going to visit the Kennedy Space
Centre in Florida, where they launch the Space Shuttle. I am going to
take a tour, and I will ask lots of questions about how I can become an astronaut.
I am going to blast off into space and do a spacewalk. I will
see the giant Earth in front of me, and I will see the stars all around me.
I am also going to go to the Moon, because humans haven’t been there
in a long time. Also, I will go to the planet Mars with the first manned mission
ever sent there.
For now, though, I am going to study for my fractions test.
