Vanier Homestay -- the Opportunity of a Lifetime
Do you want to get involved in something awesome at Vanier College? Do you want to enlarge your circle of friends and meet people from Europe? ARe you fundraising for your own trip abroad? Join Vanier Homestay!
In April 2007, 2009, and 2011, we welcomed 16 students from Denmark and Germany and Vanier Homestay was born. Our guests stayed with Vanier students, faculty and staff. They traveled on the bus or metro with them and got to know Montreal with them. Our Vanier Homestay students were great hosts and the Danish students had the opportunity to truly live the Vanier experience.
We treated our guests to such a fantastic experience that a new group of students is coming back in 2012.
We now have the opportunity to extend our Homestay invitation to the Vanier student community. If you are a Vanier student, staff member or teacher with a spare room in their home, we would like to invite you be part of Vanier Homestay and host a student in your home. (You will receive $800.00 per student you host)
Please come to Room B228 to sign up or for more information. You can send an email to hallc@vaniercollege.qc.ca if you want to be kept up to date on the program

HOST FAMILY COMMENTS
“I hope that you will accept a student in your home. It is a good experience, a good way for your children to meet people from abroad.”
“I liked the way the students made themselves right at home! It was great sharing cultures over meals and all the students were so polite.”
"Overall, the one month experience was positive and fun. Our student was delightful, and we enjoyed having her as part of our family. It was interesting to discover different perspectives on everyday things. Definitely worth the effort.”
