There are three courses in our part-time French Communication program:

  1. French Oral Communication
  2. French Written Communication
  3. Business French

The course descriptions and schedules are below. We would like to remind you that you may obtain a 15% discount if you register for 2 or more of the courses below. Also, all returning studnets receive a $30 discount when they register for their next course.

French Oral Communication

The French Oral Communication program is divided into four levels. The students will be required to communicate in situations in which the use of French is necessary or useful. Learning in this practical way will ensure that students remain motivated while reaching their learning objectives. Grammar will be integrated during the exchanges in class.

French Written Communication and Grammar

The French Writing program is divided into four levels and these levels coincide with the Oral Communication program. As in the Oral Communication program, The students will be required to write in situations in which the use of French is necessary or useful. Learning in this practical way will ensure that students remain motivated while reaching their learning objectives.

French Written Communication is not for beginners.

Business French

In this practical and dynamic workshop, participants will practice and improve their French workplace and professional communication skills. Speaking, reading, listening, and writing tasks will simulate those tasks that participants may encounter in a French workplace, for example:

  • Answering and placing phone calls
  • Writing and responding to emails
  • Giving presentations
  • Business meetings
  • Talking about your education and career
  • Making small talk in the workplace
  • Key vocabulary for the workplace

Participants will leave the course with a greater sense of their ability to use French in a general professional environment. Course materials will be provided by the teacher, and students should come prepared with a pen and notebook.

Please note that this course assumes an intermediate level proficiency and is not for beginners.

This course is designed for students who have already taken French Oral Communication level 3 or 4 or who already have a high-intermediate or stronger level of English. Note that if your level is too low, you will be placed or given the opportunity to register in the appropriate Oral Communication class.

  1. Register before the placement test for French Oral or Written Communication and participate in the test.
  2. Contact us to arrange an evaluation.

Placement Information

All new French Oral and Written Communication students must write a placement test on the date above at 6:00 pm in Room B223 (Amphitheater). Please note that you must register for the course before the placement test. Please register in level 1 Your level will be determined after the placement test.

  • Activities are designed to encourage communication between students and between students and their teacher
  • The teacher will foster an understanding of the learning process
  • Curriculum is designed to generate real-life learning situations

 

Course Combination: Register for two courses and save 15%

Returning students may register for the next level. Returning students must register in person or by phone in order to take advantage of their discount. ($30.00)
