How Much You Can Expect To Earn

The starting salary of a graduate Industrial Electronics technologist will range from $28,000 to $38,000 a year and can rapidly progress to over $40,000 per year.

Summer Jobs while in the Program

Many of our students have part-time work or work during the three months of summer break in a program-related job. Employment in the field not only enriches your college studies, but also provides you with an income and experience that will be an asset in job opportunities after graduation.

Additional Training for Jobs

Not all new jobs require additional training but should you require additional training the employer will provide you with a training period once you are hired. The amount of training will vary with the complexity of the job for which you are hired. Training can be in-house or out of town, with expenses incurred being reimbursed by your employer.

Can I Make Professional Contacts?

Industrial Electronics students can join organizations such as the International Society for Measurement and Control (ISA) as a student member. This gives you an opportunity to meet many of the local members. As a student member you can attend technical seminars, take field trips to local industries, etc. Upon graduation and upon receiving your DEC in Industrial Electronics, you will have the academic credentials for full membership in l'Ordre des Technologues Professionnels.
