Nathan Loewen's research, writing and teaching focus on three areas: the philosophy of religion, international development studies and comparative religious ethics. In pursuit of these studies he earned a doctorate from McGill University. He has also travelled to India several times to live and study among the Jains. Some of Dr. Loewen's current projects include chairing the American Academy of Religion's consultation on 'International Development and Religion' and participating in the "Project J@nus" Web 2.0 teaching initiative.
