The Environmental and Wildlife Management Program formed an official partnership with the Canadian Organization for Tropical Education and Rainforest Conservation in 2012, after sending the  first student intern to Cano Palma Biological Station, Costa Rica in 2011 to work on a plant phenology project. Five more students will be interning at Cano Palma Biological Station in 2013 working on a variety of projects including mammal monitoring, caiman surveys, plant inventory and bird banding.
