Christopher Smith  

Christopher Smith studied orchestral trombone at McGill University and received his Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies and Contemporary Media from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.

Christopher has won international awards for his composing and arranging, and was named Vanier Teacher of the Year (non-tenured) in 2005-2006. Formerly a teacher at McGill University for 16 years, he now teaches theory, arranging and composition at Vanier College and directs the Concert Band.

Christopher's regular musical activities on trombone and tuba include an eclectic assortment of groups such as Altsys Jazz Orchestra, Opus Lib Brass Quintet, the Montreal Jazz Big Band, l'Orchestre Symphonique de Sherbrooke, and Streetnix.
