Erin Berger, soprano
Erin Berger, 19-year-old soprano, is an exciting, young, up and coming performer. Although majoring in Classical Voice at Vanier College, Erin also revels in the life of musical theatre and enjoys a varied musical repertoire. Her slight build and youth belie the powerful voice that is unleashed when she takes to the stage and gives her all to her audience. Equally at ease singing in English and French, Erin auditioned and won a part performing in the cast recording of “Taedium Vitae”, produced by Les Productions Clerc-Obscur in May 2006.
Erin made her debut on stage in the musical theatre productions at Lindsay Place High School, from where she graduated in 2005. She starred as Ursula Merkle(Bye Bye Birdie) and Ado Annie Carnes(Oklahoma!). Her role in Oklahoma! won her the Glen Sampson Memorial Award for Best All Around Performer in a Musical (Female). Recently, Erin directed and was the vocal coach of an original musical comedy at Westpark Elementary School. She also performed in, directed and was the vocal coach for the West Island Student Theatre Association’s (WISTA) cabaret, “An Evening of Broadway”.
During her time at Vanier, Erin has acquired a varied operatic repertoire, which includes such songs as Ach Ich Fühl’s, Volta la terrea, Batti Batti O Bel Masetto, Vedrai Carino, Welche Wonne, Bester Jüngling, Nuit d’Étoiles, Gretchen am Spinnrade and several others. As a member of the Vanier Choir, she has performed the works of Robert Jones, and Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem. Erin plans on pursuing her studies next fall at McGill University in Voice Performance.
Sarah Pearson, mezzo-soprano
Sarah Pearson is a first-semester voice student at Vanier, and is thrilled to be a part of this great program. She holds a degree in English from the University of Toronto, and an acting diploma from the Player's Academy. When she's not at Vanier, she works as a freelance journalist and acting teacher, and sings Alto with the award-winning Concerto Della Donna.
