Smardt is seeking a professional to lead Technical Writing projects, located in Dorval, Quebec. The Technical Writer will develop and produce tools, bulletins, Installation and Operation Manuals, Service Manuals, Technical Manuals, Quality and other operating manuals, Service Training Materials, Catalogues etc. This opportunity can start out on a part time or contractual basis, and could possibly lead to a permanent position. This role demands outstanding communication skills in English (and at least one other of French, Spanish, Chinese, German) as well as the ability to research and assemble essential information from local and global teams and other sources inc. academic publications and the internet. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Some of the first projects to complete will be; Improve current templates; Create fillable forms with built-in formulas/rules; Update product manuals; Create and maintain technical bulletins; General and long term responsibilities include; Research, write, edit, format, and proofread engineering manuals, service manuals, design/install/test guides. Responsible for receiving updated technical data from various sources and incorporating into current and future documentation. Ensures documentation meets company guidelines and technical accuracy. Must be able to work independently and interact effectively with global technical resources. Other language or details: Spanish, Chinese, German will be asset. BAC degree in engineering completed. Qualifications> Software requirement: Microsoft Office Tools Editing in Adobe frame Maker and CAD, Inventor a plus Draft reports, and technical manuals
