In the wake of the events of September 11th, 2001, the importance of International Relations has become clear. In this course, students will encounter theories and concepts that will enable them to better understand the contemporary international system and how it has evolved into the 2l Century. We will examine approaches to explaining the role of the nation-state, the nature of warfare, ethnic conflicts and the international economic system.
