This Accounting Attestation is an evening program designed for people who are interested in beginning or upgrading their skills in the field of Accounting. This flexible program allows the students to study at their own pace taking one or more courses per semester. Successful graduates will have a solid understanding of the role of accounting in the workplace and be prepared to work in a computerized business environment. A total of nine specific courses must be successfully completed in order to fulfil the Attestation requirements. It is recommended that students take the courses in the sequence they are listed, either one or more in a semester.

 
 
Goals of the Attestation
 
The specific program goals of this Accounting Attestation are:
  • To involve the student in both the manual and computerized recording of accounting transactions and the preparation of financial statements and other reports used by management, creditors, and government agencies.
  • To have the student develop an awareness of the importance of financial planning and forecasting.
  • To teach the student how the methods of acquisition and utilization of funds can have both short term and long term effects on the efficiency and profitability of an organization's operation.
  • To help the student acquire knowledge of financial markets and their influence on the investment and financing decisions of an organization.
  • To increase the student's awareness of the role of social responsibility in the development of financial and business goals.
