Two Sciences in One program

This is a three-year program that prepares students to work in the electronics and computer-engineering field. The Computerized Systems Technology program is unique in that it combines two fields of studies: electronics as well as programming at the components and computer systems level. The combination of these two areas provides a total technical perspective of the computer system. By enriching the understanding of electronic circuitry with in-depth knowledge of components like microprocessors, micro-controllers and programmable logic devices basic electronic knowledge is supplemented.

The Computerized Systems Technology program prepares students to work in a wide range of areas dealing with the development or maintenance of electronic systems or computer systems. Students become proficient in both the software and hardware aspect of the electrical engineering field. At the end of the program, the student can enter the job market as a professional technologist or continue studies toward an engineering degree. The program does not assume any previous experience in electronics or computers, but the student should expect the program to be demanding in terms of academic commitment.

Program of Study

The program of study consists of hands-on electronics (hardware) courses, software courses and courses that integrate the two sciences. This multifaceted knowledge is presented gradually and it allows the student to tackle a wide range of technical tasks from two perspectives.
