| The prime objective of our Communications: Art, Media, Theatre Program is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed for acceptance into a variety of university programs, including Communications Studies, Design Art, Film Production, Photography, Interdisciplinary Studies, Studio Arts, Theatre, and Journalism, as well as Art Education, Film Studies, Art History, English, Humanities, and Education. |

| The program aims to develop technically skilled, visually literate, and broadly informed students. It provides them with an introduction to art and culture, balancing a "hands-on" workshop method with a theoretical approach. Our program is distinctive among Cegep because it consists of four interrelated disciplines: Studio Arts, Film and Media Studies, Photography and Theatre. |

| In addition the program has a Medi@Lab where students can digitally transform work from all of these areas. The program does not separate diverse areas of study into distinct options or sub-programs. Instead of streaming students into narrow profiles, we offer a Mixed Option that combines courses in theory with courses in technique. As a result, students entering our program get a broad-based Communications Profile rather than a more specialized one. If students choose, they can put special emphasis on a single area. We believe this approach is in the best interests of our university-bound graduates because it helps them gain access to Communications-related university programs whose applications require a varied portfolio of creative and academic work. Our research into university programs within Québec, across Canada, and throughout the United States has confirmed this. |
