1. To ensure the rights regarding individuals with physical disabilities, as outlined in the Quebec Charter of Human Rights.
“Every person has a right to full and equal recognition and exercise of his/her human rights and freedoms, without distinction, exclusion or preference based on race, color, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, civil status, ethnic or national origin, social condition, a handicap or the use of any means to palliate a handicap.” “Discrimination exists where such a discrimination, exclusion or preference has the effect of nullifying or impairing such a right.” (QCHR)
2. To clarify the rights and responsibilities of the institution, faculty, staff, and students regarding services for students with physical disabilities.
3. To facilitate a collaborative process among faculty, students with physical disabilities and other college personnel.
