Insurance and Financial Advisory Services

In the Insurance and Financial Advisory Services 410.C0 program you will learn to perform various activities related to insurance and financial services. Over the first year and a half of the program, you will learn more about your career path and will develop knowledge and skills in all the major areas of business – marketing, finance, business computing, accounting and human resource management.From the fourth semester on, you will concentrate on specialized courses related to insurance and financial services.

Graduates of the new Insurance and Financial Advisory Services program will be ready for interesting careers in insurance, finance and banking. Possible entry- level career positions include finance, banking and insurance administrators/clerks, credit  officers, insurance adjusters and claims examiners, life and damage  insurance agents and brokers, and mortgage brokers.

This program is accredited by  the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) and prepares you for the AMF licensing exams for damage insurance, claims adjustment and insurance of persons (CISRO).It is the only program of its kind in Quebec where the primary language of instruction is English.

This program prepares students to work in a customer-based industries and is especially suited to students who are interested in other people, have good communication skills in English and French, and are comfortable using numbers.

How do I get in?

Admission to the College is on the basis of the Quebec secondary School Diploma (Diplôme d’études secondaires); or the Québec Diploma of Vocational Education (Diplôme d’études professionnelles) with Secondary 5 first & second languages as well as Secondary 4 Mathematics; or equivalent schooling completed outside the province.

Math CST 564-406/426 and in fact Math TS/SN 506 is recommended since it is prerequisite to Calculus 1.
