General Biology I (101-NYA-05)

General Biology 1 is the ‘flagship’ course of the Biology department. Every Science student needs to complete this course in order to graduate from Vanier.
The course is taken in the 2nd or 3rd semester by Health Science students, and in the 3rd or 4th semester by Pure and Applied Science students.
This course acquaints student with the basic principles of Biology. Emphasis is placed on structural and functional organization of life, the evolutionary diversity of living things, and ecological relationships within the biosphere. Laboratory exercises focus on developing scientific proficiency within the context of these topics.
