SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS PRESENTATION, OCTOBER 2000

Julie Claveau, who won a $500 scholarship for her top-rated 95.8% average is congratulated by Vanier Director-General Michael Macchiagodena and Academic Dean David Johnson.

In keeping with Vanier College's reputation for excellence Vanier has for the third year in a row awarded a series of scholarships to encourage the academic achievements of our students.

On Wednesday, October 18 eighty-eight students received entrance scholarships ranging from $100.00 to $500.00. These scholarships were awarded to students beginning full time diploma studies in the Fall of 2000. They were awarded on the basis of highest academic average and need. The winners of these scholarships are automatically notified each September and it's not necessary for students to make an application. The awards are underwritten by Vanier College and the Vanier College Foundation. In addition to these entrance scholarships the Montreal Chinese Mandarin School makes five awards of $300.00 available to incoming students who show particular promise in science.
