PAINTING II, Winter Semester 2006
Update the painting "The Scream" by Edvard Munch

Project: Create a painting in which the composition or subject matter is appropriated from one artist while the style is appropriated from another artist. Each student should work from the same source, but combine it with a different artist's style.

Note: Appropriation means using something that originated with another person. In contrast to plagiarism or fakery, appropriation is done without any attempt at deception, A painter might "borrow" or recycle an image, style, or composition from another artist, time period, or culture utilizing whatever is borrowed as if it were a sign whose meaning is altered by inserting it into a new context.
