Students were asked to produce an original work documenting their thoughts, feelings, reactions and reflections in regard to Vanier College's Trip for Tolerance, March 19-24 2006. Judges were looking for original writing reflecting on the notion of "tolerance" as it was experienced by the participant during the trip to New York City and Washington DC. Authors were encouraged to deal with issues such as:
- What is true "tolerance"?
- Is "tolerance" enough?
- What are the limits or limitations on "tolerance"?
- In what ways is the atmosphere at Vanier College, or the behaviour of members of the Vanier community, "tolerant" or "intolerant"?
