Vanier
Competitors "Swing Out" in Successful
"So You Think You Can Dance" Competition
February 15, 2006
Jake's
Mall throbbed to the beat of Rumba, Cha-Cha, Merengue and Salsa
music as the Vanier community witnessed a truly amazing and
entertaining spectacle. Inspired by the TV show of the same
name, Vanier dancers who had virtually no experience whatsoever
in such traditional styles gave it their all and competed for
the prize of best male and female ballroom dancer. Thanks to
Pat Dichmann for handling the teaching duties. Congratulations
to the winners (left) and to Peggy McCoy of Student Services
who organized this great event. See photos by David Boily, view
a video clip from CBC-TV and read a Mike Boone Gazette article.

CBC-TV was on hand to film
the festivities and have graciously given us permission to post the
video clip.
Mike Boone of The Gazette
wrote an excellent article on the competition
in his column of February 15th.
This
large 22 MB auto-running slide show is a great way to view David
Boily's amazing photos.
