Nick Di Tomaso has been teaching in our program since its inception in 1999. He began his guitar studies at the age of 10 at the McGill Conservatory of Music and graduated from McGill, with high distinction, with a degree in Jazz Performance in 1984.
In the mid 1980’s Nick began his teaching career, first at the McGill Conservatory and later joined Vanier’s Music Department in the early 1990’s. He is also on staff at the Université de Montréal. His teaching repertoire consists of MIDI sequencing, jazz and classical guitar, jazz and pop ensembles, and jazz literature.
Nick has performed and recorded professionally for the past 30 years on television and radio, Broadway shows, clubs and hotels, and jazz festivals with such performers as Tony Romandini, Oliver Jones, Paquito D’Rivera and Randy Becker. Nick is currently recording a CD with singer Tamara Vickerd which is being engineered and produced by Pat McNeil.
