We have just been informed by Phys Ed teacher Victor Zilberman that former Vanier Wrestler Alex Moore, a nationally carded wrestler, took first place at the Commonwealth Games Trials in Vancouver, BC. He will be a part of the Canadian National Wrestling team competing at the Commonwealth Games to be held in April 2018 in Australia.

He is seen below accepting the Wrestler of the Year Award when he was still attending Vanier back in 2016. To his left is David Zilberman, a former Vanier wrestler who followed his successful wrestling career to become a coach, and to Alex’s right is Martine Dugrenier, herself a former multiple World Champion who also started at Vanier. Both David and Martine still teach for Vanier College’s Physical Education Department.

Congratulations, Alex!
