Dear Alumni & Friends,

It was another busy weekend for our Vanier basketball teams.

Our men’s Division 2 teams had 2 games, beating Nouvelles Frontieres 85-62 on Friday but losing 92=85 to Outaouais on Sunday (details not available).

Our women’s Division 1 team lost 52-46 to Nouvelles-Frontieres on Friday night. The game was close throughout, and we trailed by only a single point after 23 quarters, but we could not seal the deal. Our high scorers were Meagan Charbonneau with 13 points and Nayra Fattah with 12.

Our men’s Division 1 team did not have a game this weekend.

All of our teams are on the road next weekend. Our women are at Champlain Lennoxville Friday night at 7:00. Our men’s Division 1 team plays at Brebeuf Friday night at 8:00. Our men’s Division 2 team plays at Saint-Jean Sunday afternoon at 1:00.

I am pleased to announce that our men’s Division 1 basketball team has signed our first recruit for next year. Haris Elezovic, a 6’6” forward from Triolet in Sherbrooke, will become a Cheetah. Haris was an all-star for the Quebec under 15 team at the national championships in 2015. Haris is a very solid student and an outstanding young man, in addition to being a fine basketball player, and we are proud to have him joining the Cheetah family.
