Catherine Gariépy, a second year Commerce student, is this year's winner of the Lloyd Elder Scholarship for excellence in mathematics and sport. Catherine lives in Lorraine. She is a graduate of College Ste-Sacrament in Terrebonne. In high school Catherine participated in track and field and soccer. Presently, Catherine is a rower with the Montreal Rowing Club. She was a member of the Quebec team at the Canada Games last summer and participated in the Canada Cup Regatta in Montreal where she won a bronze medal in the Junior Women's Singles event. She rowed successfully in competitions in Ottawa, Boston and Ste. Catherines this past season.

Catherine was on the Dean's Honour Roll in A'00 and on the First Class Honours list in H'01 and A'01. She is a full time student and a member of the Sport-Etudes program at Vanier.
