Vanier Athletics recently had some excellent news about three of our wrestling alums. The Quebec Foundation for Athletic Excellence handed out their annual financial awards at a banquet on Wednesday, November 30th, and three Vanier wrestling alumni were selected to receive a bursary. Nikita Chicoine received a $2000 bursary and was ALSO named as the Woman Athlete of the Year in an individual sport. Way to go, Nikita! During the past year, Chicoine took a Gold Medal at the Canadian University Championships and was also fourth at the Canadian Senior National Wrestling Finals. Wrestling alum David Tremblay received a bursary as well at the ceremony and is seen in the photo below with Nikita. Another alum who won a bursary was Greg Rossy, (seen at left) who is also with the Concordia wrestling team. Congratulations to you all! |
