March 15, 2010

Dear Alumni & Friends,

Hernst Laroche
Hernst Laroche

Congratulations to alum Hernst Laroche (left), whose New Mexico State Aggies just won the WAC Conference championship, ending Utah State’s 17-game winning streak with a 69-63 victory, a night after edging host Nevada 80-79. Hernst sealed the game by converting both ends of a 1 and 1 with 15 seconds left. Look for Hernst and the Aggies in the NCAA tournament later this week. More on Hernst.

Note from the editor: There was also an excellent article published on March 12th about former Lady Cheetahs Head Coach Chantal Vallee (right) who is doing amazing things with the Windsor Lancers in the CIS. When she took over, their record over the past two seasons had been 8 wins and 36 losses. Improving every year under her guidance, in their last 2 seasons, they've posted identical 21-1 records.
