The Cheetahs opened the scoring at the 13:37 mark of the first quarter when Matthew Norzil hauled in a 37-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jérémi Roch and Mendy Cardichon booted the first of his three converts on the day.

Vanier extended its lead to 14-0 at 13:51 of the second frame when Roch hooked up with Michael Harrington (left) on an 18-yard touchdown toss and Cardichon added a convert. The Nomades crossed the goal line in the third quarter but that would be as close as they would come as Vanier put the game away in the fourth quarter.

Roch connected with Harrington once again in the fourth quarter, this time from 5-yards out, and slightly more than two minutes later St. Laurent’s Kayin Marchand Wright returned an interception 31 yards for Vanier’s final major score of the day.

Vanier’s offense was paced by Roch, who completed 17 of 24 pass attempts for 227 yards and 3 touchdown passes. Jerome Stewart led the ground attack with 42 yards on 12 carries while Norzil and Harrington were the Cheetahs’ top receivers with 4 receptions apiece for 65 and 42 yards respectively. Joey Finn had a terrific game for Vanier’s steel curtain defense with 8 tackles. The Cheetahs put their perfect 4-0 record on the line this Saturday when they travel to Lennoxille to take on the Cougars. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
